Associate food editor Zaynab Issa and I spoke with caller Lana about all the virtues freezers have when it comes to meal prep, plus how using your freezer wisely can actually make you a better cook. We could have listed all that out for you (listen here instead), but we instead went rogue and asked BA editors for the craziest things they have ever frozen or seen in a freezer.

Last year I learned that my in-laws would bag up and freeze my kids’ poopy diapers until trash day. Even though both kids are now out of diapers, I’ll never have ice at their house again. They claim it’s fine because it’s frozen (they’re both scientists and worked in labs before retiring, so they deal with all kinds of specimens), but that’s a big nope from me. —Anonymous
